Welcome to the EIGHTH episode of the revamped, all-new GEEKING SQUAD PODCAST (aka THE SQUAD'CAST)!  This is a pop-culture centric show where we discuss everything from movies to television to comics and toys to music and so much more.  Your hosts Larry Roberts and Megan Guess delve into some of the latest news in pop culture, as well as discuss some "real talk" about geeky topics that are currently highlighted in the news and such.  In addition to that, they'll be doing some trivia and games as well as contests, and focus primarily on the topics that have been featured lately in the Geeking Squad Group on Facebook (free and easy to join!)  Join us for some fun discussion about all things geeky!

- We remember fondly  the recently passed celebs Matthew Perry of FRIENDS fame, as well as Charlie Dominici, former vocalist of prog-rockers DREAM THEATER.

 

- Discussion on the newly released song from THE BEATLES, "Now and Then", featuring all four members, with the use of AI .

 

- We discuss the controversial news that Sesame Workshop will be completely changing the format for the next season of SESAME STREET.

 

- Excitement over the reveal that there were never-before-released characters for the MONSTER CEREALS shortly after they'd released BooBerry back in the early 1970s!

 

- We discuss how a local Chicago business VICTORY AUTO WRECKERS and their now-classic commercial that has ran for 40 years announced it's end

- Larry and Megan discuss the recent news that Disney exec Bob Iger is extremely worried and exhausted over the recent string of "flops" from the company, and how it might be time to reconfigure how they measure success and how to ignore all of the negativity and rage from the public.

 

- Time to get into more "CHOOSE" memes!  Megan and Larry discuss a bunch of different choose memes shared by members of the Geeking Squad Group on Facebook.  Nickelodeon vs. Cartoon Network, Favorite 3 films of 1993, Back to the Future vs. Karate Kid, favorite Sci-Fi sequel and more!

 

-  Megan shared a cool post featuring classic children's bedspreads from the 1980's and 1990's, featuring everything from Barbie to Alf to Strawberry Shortcake to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and so much more.  They read some of the Geeking Squad group members' comments about these and reminisce about which ones they had themselves when they were kids!
